Asylum Matters and Asylum Support Appeals Project have created a question by question guide to provide support for organisations and individuals who want to submit an answer to the UK Governments Reforming asylum support and enforcing family returns consultation.
The consultation outlines major changes that could leave refused asylum‑seeking families, children, care leavers and vulnerable adults at serious risk.
In a letter to the Prime Minister, send in April 2026, nearly 150 children’s charities and organisations working with children, including Together Scotland, warned that the announced Home Office proposals would put hundreds of thousands of children, as well as young adults leaving care, at risk.
Asylum Matters and the Asylum Support Appeals Project hope that with their guide, more people will be able to provide responses and help ensure that asylum seeking families, children and young people are treated fairly, have their rights respected and are not put at an unnecessary risk.
People can submit consultation responses until the 28th May, and choose between giving a full response, or only answering some of the questions.
