A new resource from the Improvement Service has been developed to help service managers understand where to start when considering children’s rights in the design and delivery of public services.

Public services are often designed by adults, with adults in mind. However, almost all services provided by local authorities are likely to have an impact on children and young people, even when they are not specifically designed as ‘children’s services'.

The resource provides practical advice and outlines three approaches to help service managers understand, demonstrate and improve how children’s rights are considered in their work. It also includes worked examples and links to further resources to support services in putting children’s rights into practice.
