The Connecting Scotland initiative aims to support digitally excluded vulnerable people who are on a low income or at extremely high risk of severe illness from COVID-19, and organisations that is currently working with the digitally excluded.

Digital exclusion can be due to not having access to internet enabled devices, being unable to pay for broadband or mobile data, or not having the proficiency and confidence to get online. The Connecting Scotland initiative offers a range of resources which can be used by organisations and individuals to develop digital skills. The resources cover a range of useful digital topics, such as; exploring what data and usage limits are and what 1GB can offer, the risks of the internet and what measures can be taken to keep users safe, how to access built-in digital features which support users with vision, hearing, cognitive and motor needs.
