xEuropean Commission publishes key data on early childhood education and care

The report provides indicators on key quality areas in relation to early childhood education and care (the phase before primary school education) across 38 European countries.
It presents a child-centred approach, with special attention paid to inter-relatedness of policies across different areas. The importance of inclusiveness in education is also stressed as high quality ECEC is considered to be one of the best ways to increase equity and equality in society.
The data covers the 28 EU member states, plus Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia and Turkey.
