Children in Scotland released a report entitled Protect Learning: in and out of School, on 2nd September 2013, calling for action to protect education and care and recognising that this is a key tool in tackling poverty and inequality.

The focus of the report is on supporting the whole child and all Children in Scotland members contribute to this in some way.

The aim of the survey was to discover more about Children in Scotland's members' concerns and to assess the level of their concern. There was considerable concern among families and those who work with children and young people about the impact of cuts on services now and in the future.

The report makes a number of recommendations that Children in Scotland hope will help ensure children's learning, both in and out of school, is protected in all funding decisions.
