Read, Write, Count campaign

The campaign aims to encourage parents and carers to get involved in their children’s learning when they are in Primary 1, 2 and 3. Activity bags have been developed which include books and games to help children learn and have fun.

The Primary 1 activity bag includes:

  • A whiteboard and whiteboard pen
  • Number magnets 
  • Colouring pencils
  • An activities notebook
  • Brenda is a Sheep by Morag Hood 
  • My First Book of Birds illustrated by Zoë Ingram
  • This is a Dog by Ross Collins

The Primary 2 activity bag includes:

  • Story cubes
  • A notebook and pencil
  • Shape Shuffle card game with Talk it Out and Act it Out cards on the reverse
  • Rocketmole by Matt Carr
  • How Many Trees? by Barroux

The Primary 3 activity bag includes:

  • A notebook and pencil
  • Coastal Commotion with time and story activity cards on the reverse
  • A parent/ carer guide
  • A measuring tape
  • Wow! Animals by Jacqueline McCann, Emma Dods and Marc Aspinall
  • Look Up! by Nathan Bryon and Dapo Adeola
