WWSF has launched its 2017 Prevention Kit '19 Days of Activism for Prevention of Violence Against Children and Youth 1-19 November'. The Call to Action is linked with the Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 Target 16.2, which went into effect as of 2016.
Relevant Sustainable Development Goals and Targets for 2030 have been included to speed up community action where everyone plays a role in helping to achieve the ambitious SDG Target 16.2: "End abuse, exploitation, trafficking, and all forms of violence against and torture of children".
The Prevention Kit is central to the campaign. It includes a list of 19 themes, including the main theme of ending harmful traditional practices.
There is a wide array of suggested ideas for actions presented in the Kit to support and assist organisations and individuals to develop activities and events, at the local, national or international level.
This year, the Women's World Summit Foundation (WWSF) invite you to mark two particular days:
- 2 November - Circles of Compassion for the elimination of violence against children and youth - SDG Target 16.2 presented in the Kit.
- 19 November - World Day for the elimination of abuse and violence against children and youth. This Days will be widely promoted as we now have a plan to end violence in all its forms with the SDG Target 16.2.
You are invited to register online and engage during the 19 Days Campaign via LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. If you register your planned activities online, WWSF will publish them on their website for other coalition members to see and be inspired by your programs.
