xLGBT History Month is here!
Date: 7th February 2017
Category:
Non-discrimination
Author:
LGBT Youth Scotland
This month is an opportunity to celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex lives and culture by recognising the significant contribution LGBTI people have made to Scotland and the world at large.
It's also a time for learning, discussion and reflection on progress still to be made to achieve full equality.
This year's theme is heritage. Celebrate social and political milestones from Scotland's LGBT history. Engage with History Month on social media using the hashtag #LGBTHeritage.
Every year LGBT Youth Scotland works in partnership with a wide range of organisations, community groups and service providers to deliver a diverse programme of arts, cultural and educational events across the country. To help schools engage with LGBT History Month they have create a diverse range of assemblies and activities for schools and teachers to complete with their students.
History Month is for everyone, LGBT and non-LGBT alike, bringing people together in the spirit of celebration, remembrance and dialogue.
