To mark Anti-Bullying Week 2013, Enquire has added an animation film about racist bullying, made by ethnic minority children at Shakti Women's Aid, to their youtube channel.
The children who made the animation wrote the script, used all their own drawings and directed the voice over's and filming.
Sadly, one of the easiest parts the children found to script was the words of the bullies, ideas for which came all too readily to them: 'I don't get your accent, work on it'. 'You're not from round here, go back to your own country'. 'Ha ha, your clothes are funny'. Yet the film showed the value of teachers raising awareness about racism among their pupils and seeking to grow their understanding of other cultures - the bullies in this film mend their ways after their teacher speaks to them.
