Scotland's Commissioner for Children and Young People (SCCYP) have published a report to present the findings of a piece of research which investigated the use of criteria and assessment tools in the provision of services for disabled children and young people and their families across all Scottish local authorities.
They commissioned this research earlier in 2012 to help identify where changing assessment policies and processes may be affecting disabled children and young people and their families.
SCCYP made the decision to publish this report when the commissioner was alerted to the concerns of families of disabled children and young people, who were reporting a perceived decrease in access to services provided by some local authorities.
This report presents the findings from the research.
