Children in Scotland
There are more homeless children and young people throughout Scotland than most people think. They often need help to become (or remain) successful learners. Some are already receiving valuable assistance within and/or outwith school. But, others don't receive the additional support they want and need -- despite laws and policies that say they should.
The particular focus here is on what schools can do. Since children and young people spend so much time at school, it is important that all the adults dealing with homelessness have at least a basic understanding of the role and importance of education for these individuals.
It is meant to be of value to anyone who is involved with homeless (or poorly housed) children and young people.
