Launch of the upgraded Universal Human Rights Index database

The new Universal Human Rights Index database allows for the retrieval of individual recommendations and full documents from treaty bodies, special procedures and the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process for all countries.

It also gives the possibility to cluster information by thematic issues and groups of persons affected.

New features:

  • Content: UPR information has been introduced.
  • Language: Available in all UN official languages.
  • Accessibility: More accessible for persons with disabilities, such as the visually impaired or those using screen readers.
  • For documents indexed from mid-2011 onwards, a link to follow-up information, e.g. implementation reports and comments of States parties.

The UHRI database is mean to support advocacy, efforts to disseminate the outcomes and recommendations of all UN human rights mechanism, and to promote implementation and follow-up.

The UHRI database was first launched in 2006.
