Equality and Human Rights Commission
This is the report of the joint Commissions' participation event (28 Match 2011) with disabled people in Scotland about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
The views and real life experiences that participants shared will form part of the Commissions' ongoing work to promote and protect the implementation of the Convention so that disabled people in Scotland enjoy the rights that are provided in the Convention.
In addition, it will form part of the evidence that the Equality and Human Rights Commission will present to the United Nations Disability Committee when Scotland, as part of the UK Government, is reviewed.
The evidence is also extremely useful to assist the Commissions in mapping the gaps in human rights protection that currently exist in Scotland.
