New child-led research - ‘Thinking About Justice’

Children shared how they often feel powerless and judged in their own experiences of justice. Children also highlighted the role adults play in creating both just and unjust experiences.

Incorporation motion receives cross-party support

Martin Whitfield MSP laid a motion before the Scottish Parliament on the one-year anniversary of the passage of the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill. The motion requests Scottish Government to set out a timescale for the Bill’s reconsideration. The motion has received cross-party support and will soon be debated.

Scottish Government announces increase to Scottish Child Payment

Scottish Government has said the payment will double from £10 to £20 a week by April 2022. It will then rise to £25 per week by the end of the year. This benefit will be extended to under-16s by the end of 2022.

Terms of Reference for the joint review looking at diversion from prosecution published
