The UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024 brought important children’s rights protections into law in Scotland, and taking a children’s human rights approach can help ensure that children’s rights are implemented in practice.
The workshop aims to equip attendees with:
An introduction to the UNCRC
An understanding of the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act 2024
How they can consider children’s rights in their work
Introductory knowledge of the five principles of a children’s human rights approach
Ideas for how to implement the five principles in their working practice
Resources for further study
You do not need any prior children’s rights knowledge to attend this course. All attendees will receive a participant pack to get familiar with materials in advance of the session.
This training session is followed by a drop-in session six months after your training to allow you to ask any questions about the issues you are facing as you implement your training knowledge.
