Parenting Across Scotland, Midlothian Sure Start, Children in Scotland, and The Open University are delighted to share the evaluation report for phase 3 of their Open Kindergarten project which ran from 2024-26.
Open Kindergartens are a well-established model of whole-family support in Nordic countries. They bring together parents, carers, and young children in family centres, where highly qualified early years practitioners work alongside specialists to help parents build skills, confidence, and knowledge.
Phase 3 involved delivering Open Kindergartens in different venues, locations and times. The organisations also developed a range of learning resources to help embed the Open Kindergarten approach in a variety of early learning and childcare settings.
You can find out more about the Open Kindergarten project, the different phases, and available resources including an e-learning module on the Parenting Across Scotland website.
