The European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC) has issued an urgent call for action to protect children in Gaza, warning of an unprecedented humanitarian and child rights crisis.
In the position statement, ENOC expressed deep concern over the widespread destruction and suffering caused by the ongoing conflict. Children face extreme malnutrition, lack of medical care, and the loss of schools, hospitals and homes, while many have been killed, injured, traumatised or displaced. ENOC is urging national governments, the European Union, the United Nations and international bodies to take immediate and coordinated steps. These include securing a ceasefire, ensuring safe humanitarian aid, and restoring children’s rights under international law.
