A huge congratulations to our Director, Juliet Harris, who successfully completed the Lakeland Trails Ultra 2025, a demanding 100km run through the Lake District in support of children’s rights. This was the furthest distance Juliet has ever run, with the route including over 3,000 metres of elevation across challenging hills and trails.
Juliet took on the epic challenge on the 12th of July 2025 to mark one year since the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Act came into force. A landmark moment shaped by the voices and efforts of children, young people and the inspiring member organisations that make up Together. Her run was a personal way of celebrating that progress and recommitting to the journey ahead.
Reflecting on the experience, Juliet shared:
"As soon as I saw the forecast heatwave, I knew my 100km run was going to be even harder than I anticipated, and I definitely began to doubt my abilities before I’d even started. However, running through the fells in the moonlight was utterly delightful, and when the brutal heat started to hit me in the morning, the support from so many people across the children’s rights community really kept me going. I could see messages and donations coming in as I ran, and that genuinely lifted me when things felt too hot and too hard. I was completely overwhelmed by how much we’d raised by the time I reached the finish line – a real reminder of the strength and commitment of Together’s membership, friends and supporters in keeping children’s rights on track. I really can't thank everyone enough!"
We are incredibly proud of our Director and deeply grateful to our members and supporters who donated and sent messages of support. As of the 21st of July 2025, Jules has raised £3177.49. Your encouragement helped carry her through the heat and hills and kept children’s rights at the heart of every step. Thank you!
