x£26m funding boost for CashBack for Communities
Date: 25th June 2025
Category:
General measures of implementation

The Scottish Government will give up to £26 million over the next three years to help projects that support young people who may be at risk of getting involved in crime or antisocial behaviour.
The funding is part of the CashBack for Communities programme, which reinvests money recovered from criminal activity into projects that create positive opportunities for young people across Scotland.
The next phase of the programme, covering 2026 to 2029, will fund projects offering a wide range of activities for individuals aged 10 to 25. These initiatives are designed to address the root causes of criminal behaviour and provide young people with access to trusted adults and meaningful support.
Since its launch in 2008, CashBack for Communities has invested £156 million and supported approximately 1.4 million young people in all 32 of Scotland’s local authority areas.
Further details about the CashBack for Communities programme can be found here.
The next application window for funding begins on 12 June 2025.
