CELCIS in partnership with Coram Voice, is extending the pilot phase of the Bright Spots programme in Scotland. This initiative, comprising the 'Your Life, Your Care' and 'Your Life Beyond Care' online surveys, seeks to empower children and young people with Care Experience to share their perspectives on life and well-being.

The initial pilot phase, which commenced in three local authority areas in 2021, has paved the way for an expanded second pilot. Three additional local authorities will now have the opportunity to engage with the voices of Care-Experienced young people, providing invaluable insights into their experiences and aspirations. The surveys are designed to elicit responses based on what matters most to the children and young people themselves.

CELCIS is currently inviting expressions of interest from local authorities keen on participating in the second pilot phase in Scotland. Ideally, CELCIS is seeking commitments from three local authorities willing to conduct both Bright Spots surveys before Easter 2024. However, CELCIS is open to collaborating with authorities that can undertake at least one of the surveys. The second pilot phase is anticipated to conclude by the summer of 2024.
