Icon of hearts in a house

Children and young people aged eight to 25 are invited to share their views to help CELCIS understand how voluntary care arrangements are used, understood and experienced.

Voluntary care arrangements occur when parents agree with social workers that their child should live with somebody else who will take care of them. This could be a close family member, a family friend, or a foster carer.

Children and young people’s involvement will help CELCIS to:

  • Ensure that children and young people have a greater understanding of voluntary care arrangements and their rights;
  • Ensure more consistent use of voluntary care arrangements across Scotland;
  • Inform Scottish national policy.

What are children and young people being invited to do?

Children and young people aged eight to 15 are invited to speak with CELCIS in person. There will be activities to help think about and share thoughts in a safe space. Alternatively, a one-to-one conversation can be arranged either in person or online.

Young people aged 16-25 are invited to have a one-to-one conversation with CELCIS either online or in person.
All participants will receive a voucher as a thank you.

If you have any questions, or if you’d like to let CELCIS know that a child or young person you support would like to take part, you can phone or send a text or WhatsApp message to Robert from the CELCIS team on 07967339359, or you can email at: celcis.vca@strath.ac.uk
