A mural shows children walking across a bridge. A banner reads "Nature's Future is in Our Hands". The mural was painted by Members of Children's Parliament.

We are delighted to invite our members and supporters to the virtual launch of our 2022 report on Wednesday 2nd March. The report seeks to inspire and enable everyone in Scotland to put children’s human rights at the heart of everything they do.

The report has been developed to support public authorities, the third sector, organisations and individuals as we approach implementation of the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill. It demonstrates the importance of:

  1. Children’s participation in decision making;
  2. Inclusive communications;
  3. Situations where a child’s rights are at risk of not being fulfilled;
  4. Access to justice;
  5. Raising awareness of rights;
  6. Child rights budgeting; and
  7. Children’s rights impact assessments.

We also identify common challenges and steps being taken, case studies of promising practice, resources and practical suggestions. We hope our report can serve as a roadmap for all levels of government, the Scottish Parliament and practitioners as we strive towards creating a ‘gold standard’ for children’s rights in Scotland.

The event will gather representatives from across Together’s network of almost 500 members, children and young people. The fun-filled evening will include games, activities and speeches. We will explore one of the report’s case studies through children’s eyes – by hearing from Rights Right Now!

We will also hear from Professor Ann Skelton, member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

We will launch our State of Children’s Rights Report 2022 on 2nd March 2022 at 5:00 – 6:00pm. Please register to attend here!
