Minister thanks children and young people for their contributions to policy development

The Minister for Children and Young People, Maree Todd, has written an open thank you letter to children and young people in Scotland.

In the letter, Ms Todd notes the fantastic contributions of children and young people to policies and work done to improve outcomes for children and young people across Scotland.

The Minister outlines several important occasions when children and young people have taken part in policy development during 2018-2019, including:

  • Activities organised within the Year of Young People 2018
  • The third annual Cabinet Meeting with children and young people from the Scottish Youth Parliament and Children’s Parliament (5th March 2019)
  • First Minister’s Question Time for young people (12th September 2018)
  • The development of the Action Plan 2018-2021 on Progressing the Human Rights of Children in Scotland

The Minister has also expressed a commitment to ensuring that children and young people’s views are heard and taken into account in future efforts to improve children and young people’s lives in Scotland.
