Consultation on Scottish Hate Crime Legislation

Scottish Government is seeking views on proposed changes to the Scottish Hate Crime legislation. The consultation invites individuals and communities to review the recommendations made by Lord Bracadale in his review of Hate Crime Legislation in Scotland (2018).

The consultation also asks questions on the Scottish Government’s approach to consolidating all Scottish Hate Crime legislation and expanding the statutory aggravations.

During the consultation there will be a series of public events across Scotland to allow individuals and communities to share their views and inform what is included in the new hate crime legislation.
