xProgressing Children’s Rights in Scotland: An Action Plan 2018-2021
Date: 25th July 2018
Category:
General measures of implementation, Scotland-specific monitoring and reporting
Scottish Government is seeking views on their children's rights Action Plan, which will set out how they plan to take forward children's rights over the next three years.
The Action Plan is being developed as part of the duties contained in Part 1 of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 which requires Scottish Ministers to report every 3 years to the Scottish Parliament on what they have been doing to progress children's rights and what they plan to do in the next three years.
The four strategic actions that have been included in the Action Plan are:
- The development of a Participation Framework for Children and Young People;
- The delivery of a 3-year children's rights awareness programme;
- Progressing the children's rights audit, which is assessing the most effective and practical ways to further embed the principles of the UNCRC in Scotland;
- Evaluation of Child Rights and Wellbeing Impact Assessment (CRWIA).
Together will be publishing a briefing for members of this consultation in early September. Find out more in the September 2018 e-newsletter.
