A toolkit has been developed by Eurochild, with support from the Council of Europe, to encourage consultation with children and young people for the mid-term Review of the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child.

The toolkit was presented at a meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee for the Rights of the Child of the Council of Europe, which was attended by a number of national government representatives. The 42 Member States of the Council of Europe are encouraged to use the toolkit to consult with children and young people for the mid-term Review of the Council of Europe Strategy for the Rights of the Child, resulting in a high-level conference in Paris in June 2019.

The toolkit is intended to be used by NGOs working with children and young people as well as government officials at national, regional and local level. It includes tools and methods to empower children to contribute to change in decision-making. It is hoped that this will result in the participation of children and young people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
