Together release briefing on UNCRC incorporation and the Children and Young People Bill

Together has released a briefing on incorporation of the UNCRC with regard to the Children and Young People Bill.

This briefing highlights Together's support for the policy objectives of the Bill, alongside concerns regarding the extent to which the provisions in the Bill will succeed in realising it's policy intentions.

It specifically looks at how the incorporation of the UNCRC into Scots law would better fulfil the Scottish Government's policy objectives than the existing provisions in the Bill.

As we are fast approaching the deadline for the Education and Culture Committee's call for written evidence on the general principles of the Bill (26th July 2013), this briefing is to inform Together's members' responses.
