A national programme is available to groups and organisations across Scotland with funds provided by ScotRail, as part of their commitment to their social and corporate responsibilities.

ScotRail has committed £100,000 for the period 2013/14 to be distributed to community groups and good causes and is looking to support and develop a wide range of projects which bring communities together, specifically:

  • Support for children and young people;
  • Improvement of the local environment;
  • Improvements to local communities' general health and wellbeing.

ScotRail would prefer if projects are linked to some of their own corporate themes (addressing vandalism, respecting the railway and preventing accidents, improving community connections; helping to build community identity/pride; recycling etc.) or a local train station but this is not essential.

The deadline for applications is 9th August 2013 (notification date of September 2013) and 17th January 2014 (notification date of March 2014).
