The Committee has now issued a call for evidence for the Children and Young People (Scotland) Bill, and the closing date for written submissions is 26th July 2013.

The Scottish Parliament's Education and Culture Committee is seeking written evidence on the general principles of the Children and Young People (Scotland) Bill, which was introduced to the Scottish Parliament on 17th April 2013. A copy of the Bill and accompanying Policy Memorandum and Explanatory Notes can be found here.

The Education and Culture Committee welcome your views on any or all of the provisions in the Bill, and their possible impact. The Committee would also welcome views on relevant issues that are not included in the Bill, but which you consider could be included.

Together will be producing a briefing for members on the Children and Young People Bill, which will help to inform responses to the call for evidence. The briefing will be available on the Together website shortly.

The Committee expects to take oral evidence on the Bill in September.

The closing date for written submissions is 26th July 2013.
