People Know How is a Scottish social innovation charity with a passion for solving social issues. Based in Edinburgh and East Lothian, we work with people and communities to develop innovative strategies and services to address social issues both locally and nationally. Our aim is to support and empower both individuals and organisations to mobilise their assets and realise their true potential.

One of our core services is Positive Transitions, supporting children, young people and their families in the transition from primary and secondary school. The service is designed to support them to feel valued and understood, improve their self-esteem and peer relationships, and enable them to fulfil their potential.

We provide holistic support and youth work that aims to support not just children and young people, but also their parents, carers and families. We do this by working directly with schools, teachers, families and other agencies to identify and offer the most suitable and appropriate support, as well as collaborating with social work and arts therapies programmes in various universities. This work in local communities also informs our research and work to enhance theories and improve school transitions across Scotland.
