This short film is an uplifting story of play, children’s rights and multiculturalism in Glasgow. Licketyspit documents their latest project on how Storyplay can support integration, with over 700 children and families from different backgrounds taking part in meaningful play.

In 2021-22, Licketyspit was funded by the Scottish Government’s New Scots Integration Strategy to set up three new Porridge & Play Hubs in the Glasgow communities of Bridgeton, Castlemilk & Cranhill. Over 700 children & families took part and the Licketyspit actor-pedagogues delivered the sessions with support from local professional and family Storyplay Champions.

Working in partnership with Cranhill Development Trust, Church House and Indigo Childcare, they ran Porridge & Play, Picnic & Play trips and AllScot Playcard creation sessions for their community groups, which included families from Scotland, Nigeria, Poland, India, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, South Africa and China.

The project concluded with Licketyspit’s first ever Storyplay Festival on Saturday 17th September 2022.
