Together has signed Amnesty’s joint statement on the UN Secretary-General’s fourth biennial report on the status of the treaty body system. This joint statement urges Member States to take practical steps, including ensuring sustainable funding, towards a better co-ordinated review calendar of all state parties’ implementation of their human rights obligations.

Civil Society organisations ask Member States to recognize the need for additional resources for the OHCHR if the treaty bodies are to be able to conduct regular reviews of all State parties. These resources must also be used to increase the accessibility of the procedures of the treaty body system, to include remote participation and accessibility for persons with disabilities to ensure a more inclusive system.
