Closing date: 22nd June 2022

This consultation invites views on a range of matters including the children’s hearings system; the criminal justice system; secure care; cross-border placements; and the review period for the age of criminal responsibility. Please consider responding to help shape Scotland’s future approaches to children, including those in conflict with the law, and people who have been harmed.

In addition to the main consultation document, a conversation guide has been developed to support workers to capture the views of children and young people on these proposed changes available here. An Easy Read version of the consultation will be published very soon.

The Children's and Young People's Centre for Justice is also hosting two stakeholder round table online events with the Bill’s team attending. These will take place on the 17th May at 1pm and the 30th May at 10am. If you would like more information or would like to attend, please get in touch by emailing: cycj@strath.ac.uk

The consultation found on the Scottish Government's website here and consultation hub Citizen Space here.
