Professor Ken Muir from the University of the West of Scotland, is an independent advisor to the Scottish Government on the replacement of the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and the reform of Education Scotland. Your views will help inform Professor Muir’s considerations.

The Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills announced on 22 June 2021 the intention to replace the SQA and consider a new specialist agency for both curriculum and assessment. In addition to this, the Cabinet Secretory said that it will take forward the 12 recommendations from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development Organisation, to bring reform to Education Scotland.

To help support the participation of children and young people, we have joined Children’s Parliament and Scottish Youth Parliament to provide resources that adults can use! There is also an opportunity for young people, agencies and organisations to share their views independently.
