This General Comment, developed by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, will provide authoritative guidance on how children’s rights are impacted by the environmental crisis and what States must do to uphold these rights.

Over the coming months, the UN Committee will consult with States, experts, interested parties, and especially hundreds of children to produce its General Comment. We encourage you to monitor the CRC webpage to stay tuned!

Together recently co-hosted students from Edinburgh University to speak about their recent report exploring legal and non-legal frameworks that can protect, respect and fulfil children’s right to a healthy environment; how to improve participation of children in environmental issues; and how to enhance children’s access to justice in environmental issues.
