Care experienced children and/or those with experience of the child protection system are encouraged to feed into the next Day of General Discussion 2021 which is on the theme of Children’s Rights and Alternative Care.

The ‘Day of General Discussion’ is an event held by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. It takes place every two years on a specific theme. The aim is to develop a deeper understanding about the topic and how children’s rights are affected.

To guide the 2021 Day of General Discussion, a worldwide consultation is taking place to gather the experiences of children and young people. The findings will be submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child.

Children and young people are encouraged to send in their submissions through various means including videos and audio recordings.

If you are an organisation working with children and young people, you can submit your report (no longer than 2500 words) here.

The deadline for all submissions is the 30th June 2021.
