The petition calls on Scottish Government to increase the Scottish Child Payment from £10 to £20 per child per week by 2022, to enable families “to do more than just survive”.

Aberlour is part of the End Child Poverty campaign which is backing the call, as research suggests that even prior to COVID-19 around one in four children in Scotland were living in poverty. The economic impact COVID-19 means that without further action, this figure will rise.

The public is asked to act now and sign the petition found here which will be presented to the new Scottish Government in June 2021.
