The Day of General Discussion on children’s rights in alternative care has been postponed due to COVID-19. The event was due to take place in September 2020 but will now be delayed until 2021 with the exact date still to be confirmed.

Together will be supporting our members to ensure children and young people with care experience are involved in the planning of, and participation at, the postponed Day of General Discussion. For more information please contact maria@togetherscotland.org.uk.

What is a Day of General Discussion?

The Committee on the Rights of the Child holds a Day of General Discussion in Geneva every two years. The Day focuses on a specific article of the UNCRC or a related subject. These meetings are an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of the contents and implications of the UNCRC. Children and young people from across the world are involved in planning the event and participating at it.
