xCall for children's inputs to new General Comment on peaceful assembly
Date: 10th December 2019
Category:
Civil Rights and Freedoms, Freedom of association and peaceful assembly
The UN Human Rights Committee seeks children’s views in the development of a new General Comment on the right to peaceful assembly.
The Committee has just finished its first reading of the draft text of the new General Comment and there is now a consultation period to feed into the draft text until 14 February 2020.
Child Rights Connect, an international organisation providing assistance to the Committee in including a child rights perspective to the text, has published a call for inputs.
As indicated in the call, children can provide their views, experiences, suggestions and comments by:
- filling in a survey; or
- sending their inputs in any other form (including drawings or comics) to Emma at Child Rights Connect, grindulis@childrightsconnect.org.
All inputs should be sent no later than Monday 6th January 2020.
