The UN Human Rights Office is inviting children to submit short “video selfies” on the importance of education to ensure that their views are included at the 2019 Social Forum.

The UN Human Rights Council’s annual Social Forum will be held on 1-2 October in Geneva, bringing together government representatives, experts, UN staff, and children and young people.

This year, the Social Forum will focus on the promotion and protection of children and young people’s human rights through education.

Children and young people around the world are invited to record and send short “video selfies” about how education leads to positive change in their lives and communities, and how education needs to change to be useful in the future.

The videos should be a maximum of 60 seconds long and should be sent no later than 2nd September 2019.

The event will be broadcast publicly online on the UN Web TV.
