In an effort to keep mainstreaming child rights in the work of the Special Rapporteur, Child Rights Connect and its members worked jointly on a submission highlighting some of the main challenges faced by children human rights defenders to combat impunity.

The Special Rapporteur will address the topic of impunity for human rights violations and abuses committed against human rights defenders at the 74th session of the General Assembly in October 2019. Child Rights Connect hopes the submission will help secure a section on children human rights defenders in the Special Rapporteur’s report.

They have responded by highlighting the ongoing direct follow-up activities to the 2018 DGD as well as provided examples of the different ways in which the global movement for children human rights defenders is growing at different levels and in many different forms.
