Closing Date: 28th May 2019. From April 2020 the Scottish Government will take full responsibility for all remaining devolved entitlements to disability assistance, with replacement disability payments to start their introduction from summer 2020.

To support this process, a consultation is underway which looks to hear the views of people with lived experience or a working knowledge of social security, including disability entitlements, and experience of the application process.

Disability Assistance in Scotland will have three strands of support;

  • Disability Assistance for Children and Young People (DACYP)
  • Disability Assistance for Working-Age People (DAWAP)
  • Disability Assistance for Older People (DAOP)
