Did you ever wonder when children's rights were first established or how they came into existence? This article gives a historical overview of the genesis of Children’s Rights.

For centuries children existed without any kind of representation or voice and were often seen as “small adults”. They shared responsibilities with their adult counterparts and had little to none protection as a class. At the beginning of the 20th century, children’s protection starts to be put in place, including protection in the medical, social and judicial fields. This kind of protection starts first in France and spreads across Europe afterwards.
