Children and young people have a right to take part in and influence how adults plan and run services for them in the areas where they live and learn. Edinburgh Children's Partnership have developed a model for engagement.

Edinburgh Children's Partnership has delivered an approach to engagement with children and young people which is based on a model drawn from Scotland's National Action Plan for Human Rights.

The pilot initiative was a way to develop a methodology for engagement between children and young people and adult duty-bearers which might then be shared as a model of good practice with other Community Planning Partnership areas.

Public Bodies across Scotland need to consider how they engage with children and young people as active partners, so that they are involved all the way through planning, delivering and monitoring.

The report below describes the process and the full set of appendices details the outputs from a series of three events which will continue to inform planning in Edinburgh.
