A new national action plan to help protect children and young people online has been launched recently.

The internet is central to the lives of the majority of children and young people. Children and young people need to be protected, safe and supported in the online world and be able to enjoy the internet, show resilience and take advantage of the opportunities it has to offer. Therefore, as part of the Government's Programme for Scotland, Scottish Government has published a refreshed action plan on internet safety for children and young people to ensure appropriate training, support and information is in place.

The refreshed plan will help children and young people develop the skills they need to stay safe on the internet and support parents and carers to be more aware of the potential risks that their children face online.
