New reports submitted to UN on disability rights in Scotland

Date: 6th March 2017
Category: Disabled children

The Scottish Human Rights Commission has submitted two reports to the United Nations Committee for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

The reports have been prepared jointly by the Commission and the other members of the UK and Scottish Independent Monitoring Mechanisms for the CRPD.

The reports set out a series of areas where disabled people's rights are not currently being fully protected and realised in Scotland. They have been submitted to the UN Committee in advance of the first review of the UK's implementation of the CRPD, which will began in March this year.

The reports are available in an easy read format and as BSL videos for the main UK submission and the Scotland supplementary report.
