We will be holding a State of Child Rights reception soon!

Date: 1st November 2016
Category: Scotland-specific monitoring and reporting

Together will be holding a reception on the 16th November in Scottish Parliament from 6 - 8pm.

We will be celebrating Universal Children's Day and the publication of our State of Children's Rights report.

Together's State of Children's Rights reception to celebrate Universal Children's Day will be held in the Member's Room at the Scottish Parliament on 16th November from 6.00-8.00pm and is kindly hosted by Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP as deputy Convenor of the Cross Party Group for Children and Young People. The event will include a preview of our State of Children's Rights report 2016, and we are delighted that Mark McDonald MSP, Minister for Childcare and Early Years, will be providing his response.

We are also excited to welcome members of the Scottish Youth Parliament and Children's Parliament, who will be speaking about their work with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child over the past year. The Scottish Youth Parliament will present on the work they did to influence the recommendations made by the UN Committee to Scotland earlier this year. The Children's Parliament will be bringing a giant mural that they took to the UN in Geneva in September; demonstrating how listening to children's views and experiences can change local communities for the better.

We appreciate the input and interest that our members have invested in our work and would love to see many of you there. For further information, please contact Liz Millership at Together (Scottish Alliance for Children's Rights) at liz@togetherscotland.org.uk / 0131 337 9015.
