U-Report – hearing from children and young people

Date: 1st November 2016
Category: Respect for the views of the child

U-Report is an anonymous messaging service that allows children to speak out on issues that matter. New questions are sent out every week, to which live results on what children around the country are thinking on that topic.

U-Report is run by UNICEF UK. It is free and completely anonymous. Anyone aged 13 or over can join U-Report. There are already 2 million U-Reporters around the world. Unicef are piloting U-Report in the UK and want input on shaping and developing the questions they ask. During the pilot, questions will be sent to UK U-Reporters on a regular basis, covering topics from child rights to the refugee crisis. Over time, young people will also have the opportunity to suggest question topics, feedback on their experience as a U-Reporter and shape U-Report in the UK.
