The Children's State of the European Union

President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker delivered his State of the Union on Wednesday, stating Europe should "champion children and their way of life".

Eurochild spoke to him about their ideas from the Children's State of the European Union which includes some requests drafted by the children at the Eurochild Conference 2016. On Thursday, Juncker has also been interviewed by three young Youtubers.

The European Parliament voted the resolution "Creating labour market conditions favourable for work-life balance" last Tuesday. Eurochild welcomes the positive vote as this resolution calls for the full implementation of the Recommendation on Investing in Children.

Juncker's pledge should be echoed in all discussions around Scotland's place in the EU by Scottish and UK Governments and by the EU itself.
