Deadline: 18th March 2016

The Scottish Government has issued a discussion paper for comments on plans for a £1 million programme of trials on flexible models of early learning and childcare.

The Scottish Government seeks to expand early years' provision from 600 hours to 1140 hours per year by the end of the next parliamentary term (subject to the result of May's Scottish Parliamentary elections). The paper sets out the policy framework for extending early years' learning and childcare and seeks input on examples of current best practice, innovative models, potential barriers and the design of the programme of trials.

Response submissions can be made by post, or online.
